Tuscan Home Style Exteriors Include Classic Lines, Dominant Turrets and Mixing Old and New Looks

The popularity of the Tuscan style continues in Arizona luxury homes.  There are many popular exterior features of the Tuscan style.  The photos of this home highlight the look and feel of very old home, than a recently built home. A wrought-iron gate encloses the colonnade entrance from the street side.  The colonnade, more than a roofed gate, is an actual structure accented with plants and accessories.  Once inside the courtyard, the casual sitting area at the fireplace softens the entrance to the various exterior doors of this home.  An iron entry door covered by a rough-hewn wood beam supported roof line anchors the formal entry bastion.  Mixing smooth stucco surfaces with over-grouted rough stone, stucco arches and wood beams; reflect the additions and changes that may have occurred over time, a true Tuscan characteristic.  Covered areas of this courtyard are accented with dark-stained wood beams, carved cornices, and tongue and groove ceilings blending the wood, stone and smooth stucco materials.  The colors are neutral yet the terra-cotta colored shutters; roof tiles and brown pavers mix the true ancient terra-cotta and brown clays of the Tuscany region.  Wrought iron accents include large dark metal lanterns, black iron accents on the exterior shutters, and at the Cinderella window above the entry door.  Blending well, some windows have awnings while others have shutters.

As in other Arizona luxury homes, this home has an estate look with the colonnade as a fortress, front courtyard and gated driveway.  The substantial sized wrought-iron driveway gate creates additional privacy and separates the house from the street.  At Woodridge Custom Builders LLC we see the Tuscan home style remaining in popularity for quite sometime in Arizona luxury homes.  This style allows for so much flexibility to mix stucco, weathered bricks, rough stone, and rough-hewn wood offering custom home buyers tremendous options for designing and creating their dream home.
