Art Wall Accent Lights Make for a Cool Room Design!
One cool room design feature, a very small detail actually, is accent lighting over an art wall, niche, fireplace, or hallway. These small amenities, including one, two or three accent lights can easily transform a boring long hallway or wall into a truly customized look highlighting a homeowner’s art collection, trophy mount, or group of collectibles. It’s amazing how many amenities that we routinely include in our custom homes as AZ custom home builders that do not significantly increase the cost of construction, but add value and help to really personalize a home.
Examples of these dramatic lighting features and how each makes for such a cool room design is highlighted below.
- Photo1 – Each of the three niches on either side of this entry foyer was constructed with their own accent light. Individually highlighting the homeowners’ vase collection.
- Photo 2 – The accent lights were also placed within the overhead arch of these niches and each accent light focuses on the individual piece within the niche.
- Photo 3 – The four small low-voltage accent lights in this office are directed toward the bookshelves highlighting beautiful stained alder wood. The two other lights located in the ceiling are functional low voltage lights offering general room lighting.
- Photo 4 – This photo of a home office included one small low-voltage light directed at the fireplace wall. If the trophy antelope is removed and replaced with an object or art piece of different size, the lamp itself can be redirected to focus on the new artwork.
