Wet Bars or Dry Bars, Either Can Add Elegance and Convenience in Your Home
Interior designs for home wet bars can vary by size, shape, style, and purpose. As AZ custom home builders, wet bars are a popular feature in Arizona luxury custom homes. Incorporating a home wet bar depends upon its purpose for the space and the size of the space available. Wet bars can be a family room feature, incorporated in game room design, a nice convenience for guest quarters, and perfect for morning coffee in master bedrooms.
A wet bar usually refers to an area of a room with custom kitchen cabinetry, it may or may not contain both upper and lower cabinets, but does include a sink, thus the term wet bar. A dry bar on the other hand, can be custom kitchen cabinetry, without a sink. Either a wet bar or dry bar may include an under-counter refrigerator for bottled water, sodas, beer, wine or juice or possibly a full-size wine refrigerator for wine lovers. Either a wet bar or dry bar can include functional custom kitchen cabinetry as well as more decorative kitchen cabinetry with glass doors and back-lights.
Interior designs for wet bars does not require a specific size or space, considering a variety of decorating ideas and some creativity will help find the perfect arrangement for the space available. In some cases, a forty-eight inch space can create a great bar area. An under counter refrigerator may require 30 inches and a small wet bar sink may require 12 to 18 inches. As shown in a photo below, a morning coffee bar fits perfectly into such a space. An under counter refrigerator holds cream, bottled water and bottled juices, a sink next to the refrigerator provides a clean up area for the coffee maker and supplies. The upper cabinets provide storage for coffee, cups, and supplies.
Wet bars can be in any shape that your creativity and space allow. This can be a one-wall design, U-shaped, or even circular. A wet bar along one wall may work well as a self-serve area for holiday parties and family reunions. A U-shaped or circular wet bar is great for a host that loves to serve guests and offers an area for guests to sit and socialize.
The style of a wet or dry bar can be anything one likes. Typically in the homes we build, the bar cabinetry matches custom cabinets in the rest of the home and fits with the style of the home whether Tuscan, Santa Barbara, Spanish Colonial or traditional.
For most of us, we might think that a wet bar is just that, a bar to entertain and serve drinks to guests. A wet bar can be used for several different purposes. As outlined above, a wet bar in a master bedroom makes a great place for a morning coffee bar. Interior designs for wet bars in guest quarter’s offers guests a variety of benefits. A set of upper and lower cabinets, an under-counter refrigerator, a small sink, and a microwave can create a small kitchenette for the lengthy visitors we often have during our mild Arizona winters. Interior designs for wet bars can be as creative as your imagination allows.
