OUR PROCESS

Our New Home Building Process

01

Once you have selected your custom home lot or parcel of land, contact us for an initial consultation. We'll discuss your ideas and look for any potential complications or challenges.

02

If you don't have an architect, we'll connect you with ours.

03

Once you provide us with an architectural set of house plans, we can develop a construction estimate in cost per square feet. We’ll outline what the estimate includes and excludes.

04

We strive to perform weekly walkthroughs with our customers. We use this time to discuss the next steps, answer specific questions, or resolve outstanding issues.

05

Large custom homes can take anywhere from nine months to a year for completion, depending on size and complexity.

WHY CAN’T WE PROVIDE A COST PER SQUARE FOOT RIGHT AWAY?

We rarely offer a rough or broad cost of construction estimate until we have assessed your wants and needs, see the land where you intend to build your custom home, and receive a set of house plans. There are so many customer-dependent decisions affecting your custom home's cost. Costs vary based on the specific selections a customer chooses for their home. For example, what kind of door hardware appeals to you? What bathroom fixtures will you select? Which materials will you choose for the kitchen counters and backsplash? What about cabinet selection? What kind of lighting will you want in the rooms? What flooring best appeals to you; stone, tile, or carpet? Will you select high-end appliances or basic appliances? Will the home include any exposed beams? If so, will they be structural or aesthetic? Will you want us to handle the pool and landscaping afterward? Will you choose paint-grade doors or solid hardwood doors?

As you can see, building a new home requires the custom homebuyer to decide on more than just big architectural choices. There are hundreds of minor decisions to make, all of which may impact the build cost of your new home. These are all customer-dependent decisions, which means customer-dependent pricing.

Who Deals with the HOA and Permitting?

If you're building a new home in a community with a Homeowner's Association or HOA, and are using our architect, he will ensure your home design incorporates your HOA requirements and strictly adheres to community building rules.

The home building process is complicated enough for property owners without struggling through unfamiliar permitting and inspection processes. On your behalf, we can handle air-pollution permits, construction permits, and the associated inspections so you can focus on the other many choices you'll need to make during the building process.
